Nicosia & Lefkara  Every Tuesday

Our tour starts in Nicosia the only divided capital in the world. Driving through the old city of Nicosia we visit the CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOHN which dates back in the 17th century. We pass through the Venetian walls, Famagusta Gate and the statue of Liberty. We continue our tour into the recently restored 19th century quarter of the city LAIKI YITONIA where you will have time for lunch (not included) and walk to the Green Line that divides the city in two. From Nicosia we then journey south towards the village of LEFKARA renowned around the world for handmade lace and silver.

Troodos/Kykkos Every Monday & Thursday

Our first stop on the way to the Troodos Mountains is at the CHRYSOROYIATISSA Monastery where you can see this 12th Century monastery, view its vineyards planted in the end of the 18th century produce some of the finest white Ayios Andronicos and Ayios Elias and enjoy the magnificent valley overlooking Kannaviou dam. The tour continues towards Kykkos, passing through the Pafos forest. Arriving at KYKKOS MONASTERY, you will be guided through the renowned and rich Monastery as well as to visit the Archbishop Makarios’ tomb in THRONI where you can enjoy the breath-taking view of almost all the islands! We drive on to “Timios Stavros” famous for its cross of 25meters high which overlooks Marathasa Valley. There will be free time to enjoy your buffet lunch (price not included) or free time to enjoy the magnificent view. On the way to Omodos we will drive through the pine forest, pass the highest village of Cyprus, Prodromos and tourist Platres.  OMODOS is a traditional wine producing village, you can walk through the cobbled streets to reach the village square lined with cafes and shops selling wines, olive oil and other local products or visit the church of the Holy Cross and then enjoy a Cyprus coffee in the square.

Limassol Every Saturday

Our first stop will be the ancient Greek city kingdom of KOURION which dates to the 10th century BC. We will see the many excavations including the complex of Eustolios and admire the magnificent amphitheatre with its spectacular views over Episkopi Bay. We continue stopping at the village of KOLOSSI to reach the medieval castle, a former Crusader stronghold. From there we drive to LIMASSOL arriving in the old town, close to the medieval castle, Limassol Marina, and the market area where you will have free time for exploring, shopping and lunch (not included). On the way back we will stop at the Rock of Aphrodite where, according to legend, the Goddess of Love and Beauty was born from the waves and there will be time for a swim.

Nicosia  Every Wednesday

We head toward Nicosia making a convenience stop at Choirokoitia on the way. Arriving in Nicosia we will first visit the CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOHN and then proceed on foot (weather permitting) through the narrow streets of the old quarter until we reach the “Laiki Yitonia” with its colourful cafes, tavernas and shops. There will be plenty of free time for lunch (not included), shopping or visiting the museum. If you bring your passport it is also possible to cross the green line to visit the occupied part of Nicosia (optional).

Blue Lagoon Every Day (May – Oct)

The program combines two fascinating journeys: a bus trip and a sea cruise. We will visit the most picturesque parts of the island and feel its unique atmosphere.

A visit to the SEA CAVES before heading to the pretty fishing village of LATCHI where we board a Boat and set sail to the Blue Lagoon, having the opportunity to see the coastal Akamas nature reserve area from the sea. The captain will treat you to local wine (red, white), orange juice and seasonal fruits. At least one hour for swimming in the crystal clear water before returning to Latchi Harbour and having some free time to wander, relax or enjoy lunch(not included)

We will also visit the Botanical Garden, wherein lies a grotto – BATHS OF APHRODITE. According to the legend, the goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite would bathe here, when she met her lover Adonis.

Cyprus in a Day Wednesday

(BIRTHPLACE OF APHRODITE, TROODOS MOUNTAINS, NICOSIA & LARNACA)

We will take the southern coastal road making a photo stop at the Birthplace of Aphrodite before continuing into the TROODOS mountains and visiting the village of OMODHOS. Free time to explore the village and try the sweet Cyprus wine of Commandaria. We follow the way to Solea valley through the villages of Amiantos & Kakopetria before visiting the Byzantine Unesco church of Galata. Leaving the mountains behind we head to the capital NICOSIA, the last divided city in Europe where you will have time for lunch and to explore the old city.  Then on to LARNACA,stopping for a coffee or visit the Church of St Lazarus. Passing the Larnaca salt lakes we head back to Paphos.

Visit the BIRTHPLACE OF APHRODITE – where according to legend, the ancient goddess of love & beauty was born when she rose from the sea foam.  Then we continue into the TROODOS mountains and visiting the village of LOFU famous for its producing of olive oil, See the production & sample the traditional Cyprus cheese, Halloumi. Wander the cobble streets of OMODHOS with the Monastery of the Holy Cross set in the heart of the village & then a visit to the MILOMERIS WATERFALL before exploring PLATRES the largest of the mountain resorts.  On the return to Paphos we head to a local winery for some wine tasting.

Authentic Cyprus  Every Tuesday

Meet local hospitality and tradition

We begin our day with a stop at a pottery workshop in YEROSKIPOU village, where we will see how the potters continue the ancient traditional craft and if you are lucky, you might even try your hand at the wheel.

Our next stop is at the village square where we will see the unique 5-domed church of St Paraskevi, built in the 9th century reputedly on the site where the ancient temple of Aphrodite previously stood.  We will also have a chance to see how the ‘loukoumia’ (Turkish delights) are made and wander around the square with its local produce shops.  From there we will go to a small village, LETYMBOU, where we will visit Sophia’s traditional house where you can experience rooms with the original furniture and décor as well as traditional costumes. You will learn how to bake village bread in the clay oven and makes other local delicacies such as the traditional halloumi cheese.  Afterwards we will have a brunch –a special “Cypriot breakfast”, prepared by Sophia (included in the price). 

Next, we will visit the SAINT NEOPHYTOS monastery and the “Enkleistra”, an enclosure which was carved out of the mountain in the 12th century by the hermit Neophytos and contains some of the finest Byzantine frescoes. The main church of the monastery was built around 200 years after the death of St Neophytos and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

Kyrenia Every Friday

We head towards Nicosia with a stop on route for a refreshment break (not included) before continuing to the checkpoint. After passing through the checkpoint driving through the PENTADAKTYLOS Mountains we head to BELLAPAIS VILLAGE. Optional visit of the BELLAPAIS ABBEY, built  on the rocky mountain top. After we visit the picturesque harbour town of KYRENIA. It is bordered to the north by the sea and to the south by the greenery of five fingers mountain range and it offers the most magnificent scenery. Two hour stop for free time in KYRENIA for you to explore the Castle (optional) or wander the narrow cobbled alleys behind the harbour and take lunch (not included) in one of the local cafes.

Famagusta Every Friday

The first stop will be Choirokoitia for a coffee break before continuing to Strovilia check point (passports necessary) to cross the United Nations Green Line. We will arrive at the monastery of ST BARNABAS which has now been converted into a museum housing icons and other religious artefact. We will also see the tomb of St Barnabas. We continue to the ancient Kingdom of SALAMIS built in the 12th Century BC and visit the amphitheatre and gymnasium. We arrive in the city of FAMAGUSTA with its many Gothic churches and surrounded by Venetian walls. There will be time to visit the Cathedral of St Nikolaos built in 1312 and converted in 1570 into a mosque as well as free time for sightseeing, shopping, and lunch (not included). Finally, we will stop to view the “Ghost Town – VAROSI” to see the abandoned houses and hotels which have been closed off behind wire since 1974 and admire the best sandy beaches of the island
